  • In the equipment for the production of oxygen by the principle of cryogenic rectification, in order to ensure the normal progress of rectification and separation of air in the low temperature zone, the air must be pretreated in the normal temperature zone for filtration, pre-cooling and purification.

    The air contains a lot of dust. In the high-speed operation of the air turbine compressor (referred to as the air compressor), the dust will cause wear, corrosion and scaling of the impeller, blades and other parts inside the machine, shortening the service life of the machine. Therefore, a raw material air filter must be provided to remove dust from the air.

    The air temperature after compression by the air turbine compressor rises above 80 degrees, which causes subsequent adsorption and heat exchange to fail normally. By setting the air pre-cooling system, the air temperature entering the air separation unit can be effectively reduced.

    In addition to a large amount of dust in the raw air, there are hydrocarbons such as water, carbon dioxide, and acetylene. Most modern air separation plants use molecular sieve purification systems to remove these impurities to improve the cleanliness of the air entering the cold box and prevent moisture. Concentration with carbon dioxide threatens the normal operation of air separation plants. Therefore, gas filtration, pre-cooling and purification equipment are an integral part of air separation plants.
